Cops free 'Drug Queen of the South

Law enforcers have set free a suspected top narcotics supplier with alleged ties to self-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa, the Philippine National Police-Anti-Illegal Drugs Group said Friday.

Senior Superintendent Albert Ignatius D. Ferro, PNP-AIDG chief, said Lovely Adam Impal, dubbed the "Drug Queen of the South", is no longer in Camp Crame.

"Wala na po siya dito. Alam namin she is with her family...Unfortunately wala po kasi siyang warrant of arrest. Wala po siyang any case filed against her so wala tayong authority or legal basis para siya ay i-detain," he told reporters.

He said Adam did not grant any interview.

Impal surrendered to PNP chief Director General Ronald ''Bato'' Dela Rosa earlier this month after Espinosa identified him as having supplied drugs to Visayan drug lord Jeffrey "Jaguar" Diaz.

"Noong nasa BBRC ako, nasa BBRC kami, naririnig ko na nagta-transaksyon sa cellphone at sinabi rin sa akin ni Jaguar na si Lovely Adam Impal ang supplier niya," Espinosa said in a recent Senate inquiry.

Other personalities allegedly linked to Impal include Eugene Alegre, Dodong Velendres, Crisostomo Llagonos (Tata Negro), Carlos Dy, an alias Ricking, Jerome Estrada, Charlie Parba, Ryan Tumulak, and an Enrico Caca.

Impal is a native of Cagayan De Oro, but owns properties in Iligan City. Espinosa said Impal is also facing drug cases before the Regional Trial Court 58 in Cebu.
