NY Times to release documentary on DU30's war on drugs

MANILA- American newspaper The New York Times has released Thursday a trailer for “When a President Says, ‘I’ll Kill You’,” a documentary on President Rodrigo Duterte's war on drugs.

In a Facebook post, the paper said they sent a film crew to the Philippines "where death, grief and fear fill the streets" for the documentary.

The trailer showed scenes from different incidents of alleged extrajudicial killings and police operations.

Since his assumption to the presidency, more than 7,000 people have been killed in Duterte's bloody anti-narcotics campaign.

Malacañang recently slammed The New York Times for its piece “Becoming Duterte: The Making of a Philippine Strongman,” which details the life of President Duterte and his beginnings as mayor of Davao City.

Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said the article “sounds like a well-paid hack job for well-heeled clients with shady motives.”

The full documentary will be released on Sunday, March 26.
